Hiawyn Oram's writings include children's books, poems, libretto, animation scripts and travel stories.    She's had more than a hundred books for children published, many of which have been translated into languages all over the world and her characters and stories given life by exceptional illustrators including Satoshi Kitamura, Tony Ross, David Mckee, Ruth Brown, Susan Varley, Frederic Joos, Tudor Humphries, Sarah Warburton, David Melling, Birgitta Sif, Gwen Millward and, in her latest book, David Wyatt.

 

She grew up in South Africa graduating in Drama and English from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal and afterwards worked as a copywriter for J Walter Thompson in Johannesburg and Leo Burnett in London.     As a painter, some of her work is viewable at www.hiawynorampaintings.com
